Changing Seasons

The sun is shining, the air cool and crisp. It is a bright September day filled with promise. It helps, too, that it is Friday, and everyone seems happier—indeed relieved—that the weekend is upon us.

It has been a good week. I’ve been slogging away on the rewrite of a novella for the last few weeks, and I’ve reached the halfway point in this project. Showing up daily at the page, even when I didn’t necessarily feel “in the mood” to write has kept this project moving along.

I have kept to my running schedule this week as I prepare for my third half-marathon on 20 September 2009. The training has, at times, been difficult, and as is sometimes the case with my writing, there have been days when I haven’t been in the mood to run, but ocece I am out running, all is well.

So, if you are around on Sunday, 20 September 2009, come out an cheer on the participants of the Canada Army Run.

September has brought with it something new and terrifying all the same. I am asking myself if I am slowly falling in love. Maybe. Maybe not. Whatever it may be, I am enjoying the journey, the joys of getting to know a new lover, a new friend. Joy is marching in my heart.

And so I keep on keeping on.

  1. Hi, my dear. I am so glad to see that your writing, your running, and, in general, your journey are going well. I received your wonderful card today - thank you so much. And "ditto" on the card's sentiment from me and Mom. We love you very much! H-A
